‘Elden Ring’ mod turns ‘Shadow Of The Erdtree’ into ‘Pokémon’

Use fallen bosses to beat the game

A new mod for Elden Ring turns the Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion into a Pokémon game.

Available via Nexus Mods, the DLC Summon Bosses Mod allows players to call on fallen enemy bosses to help them out in future battles, which is similar to how all battles in Pokémon operate.

“This mod includes 11 bosses of the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree to be summoned in as spirit ashes and has all of the stages included,” reads the description, while creator FlippantTunic22 has also promised to include all the base game’s bosses in a future mod.

A video showing the power of the mod was uploaded to YouTube last week, and has already racked up over 16,000 views.

Other mods for Elden Ring have also been released in recent weeks. The work-in-progress Graceborne: Bloodborne Inspired Overhaul mod sees creator Noctis adding a Bloodborne filter to the expansive Elden Ring, in a bid to turn the game “into a more grim and sinister experience.” On the other end of the gothic horror scale, the Patches- Consort of Miyazaki mod swaps out Shadow Of The Erdtree’s final boss for Elden Ring creator Hidetaka Miyazaki riding trickster NPC Patches (via VG247).

The modding scene around Elden Ring is only set to get more inventive as well, after it was confirmed Shadow Of The Erdtree was the first and only expansion for the game.

However, Game Of Thrones author George R.R. Martin has hinted that an Elden Ring adaptation could be in the works, via an over-the-top blog denial that no one asked for.  “I have nothing to say,” he wrote. “Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum.  What rumour?”

It came days after Miyazaki said there’s an “active” interest in an adaptation of Elden Ring, but only if he and the rest of FromSoftware weren’t too heavily involved. “I don’t see any reason to deny another interpretation of Elden Ring, a movie for example. But I don’t think myself, or FromSoftware, have the knowledge or ability to produce something in a different medium,” he said in an interview with The Guardian. “So that’s where a very strong partner would come into play,” he added.

In other news, it seems that one of Fallout 4’s most frustrating and agile enemies has gotten a lot more scary following the next gen update.
