Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki has died after being electrocuted at a show where he was performing.
Sasaki, 35, reportedly suffered an electric shock when a soaked fan embraced him on stage at the gig.
Sasaki was performing at a hotel in Salinopolis, Brazil, and according to reports, passed away instantly after the water from the fan hit a cable close by. It is not yet clear why the fan was soaked when he embraced the musician on stage.
The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated by Brazil’s Civil Police.
The Solar Hotel, where the concert was held, released a statement saying: “We are fully dedicated to providing support to his family and taking the necessary measures. We reaffirm our commitment to fully cooperating with the competent authorities for the proper clarification of the events.”
Sasaki’s aunt, Rita Matos, told local media: “”What we know is that his show was scheduled for a specific time and was moved up, but we are contacting people who were with him at the moment to understand how everything happened. We will gather all the information in a statement that we will release to the press” (via The Sun).
